Holiday Pay Update
The GMB have been in successful negotiations with Birmingham City Council about overtime and allowances that should have been included in pay when annual leave was taken. Some members will receive a payment from BCC which will be backdated from November 2014. We have also negotiated how payments will be made in the future.
Below are some frequently asked question’s.
• Will everyone receive a payment? No- only people who have worked overtime and have taken annual leave since Nov 2014 or have been entitled to an allowance that hasn’t been included in holiday pay.
• Will Back pay be subject to pension, tax and N.I.- Yes
• Will I be receiving 10 days holiday pay? No- 10days is based on how the calculations for payments are made i.e. there is an assumption made that most employees would have 10 days annual leave left between Nov 2014- March 2015.
• When will payments be made- BCC are aiming to make payments by the end of June but this is subject to documents been checked by legal teams.
We will keep you updated as and when we get more information.
